Looking for a unique Stone Town experience? The Swahili House will offer you the best of the local Arabic style mixed with continental standards in combination with authentic Swahili hospitality. The hotel is located in the bustling heart of Stone Town with exciting experiences only a few steps outside the hotel door.

The hotel building was originally set up and used as an Indian Merchant House in the 19th century. In the 125 years that were to come the building was home to one of the many Sultan families and then became a hotel some years ago. The hotel was renovated in 2008, and most of the hotel was restored into its original state.

The Swahili House has 5 floors that are all built around a beautiful traditional Zanzibar courtyard. The floors are all reachable via traditional Zanzibari staircases and an elevator. At the rooftop you will get a fantastic 360 degree view of Stone Town while enjoying a refreshing drink, lunch or dinner. The rooftop is also a perfect spot to watch the sunrise and sunset, and listen to the exiting sounds of the city while the friendly and professional staff makes sure you have everything you need.
