In the shadow of its more famous neighbour in the south, Pemba is waiting for the more adventurous travellers. The island has a lot less tourist visiting than Unguja, the other Zanzibar Island, but its visitors are rarely disappointed!

Pemba has a very different nature from Unguja, with hills and green, rich vegetation.

Arabian traders who visited the island in the eighteenth century, named it "Al Khuthera", which means "The Green Island".

Today Pemba still have a very simple infrastructure, but is worth a visit, and will make you feel like an explorer, since you enjoy the feeling of peace and solitude, travelling without a lot of tourists around you.

For Scuba diving and snorkelling, Pemba is regarded as one of the ultimate sites in the world!
