Waking up early to prepare for your safari experience, with a departure time no later than 5:00 am, you will transferred to today’s takeoff spot. At the launch site near Maasai Kopjes you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing and watch the inflation of your balloon.
At sunrise you take off, rising as the sun rises and you will float in whichever direction the morning wind choose to take you. Even though it is the wind choosing your direction, your pilot is the one to control the altitude. A job he does with perfection.
He is well experienced, and he know when he should keep you flying at treetop height and when it is possible to go lower and closer to the animals, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below.
Other times he will ascend to 1000’ or more to give you an impression of the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful whisper burners, but in between these burns, there is silence apart from the natural sounds below.
