Overview
The 7 Days Shira Route Kilimanjaro Climb is one of the most scenic and remote trekking routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Beginning on the western side of the mountain, the route crosses the beautiful Shira Plateau before joining the Machame Route toward the summit. Trekkers experience stunning high-altitude landscapes, dramatic volcanic scenery, and quieter trails compared to some of the busier Kilimanjaro routes.
The Shira Route starts at a relatively high elevation, making proper acclimatization important during the climb. Because of its unique starting point and panoramic scenery, the route is ideal for experienced hikers and climbers looking for a more adventurous Mount Kilimanjaro trekking experience.
During the trek, climbers pass through moorland, alpine desert, lava formations, glaciers, and scenic ridges before reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters.
